I cant stand zits! What about you? Don’t even bother answering that question. We all share the same feelings about whiteheads, blackheads,
pimples, blemishes and acne in general. Now, the trick is finding a way to lessen this affliction. Wouldn’t it be great to never have a zit again for the rest of your life? Unfortunately, it’s not going to happen. Life is never, ever that easy. Even for adults, the pimples just keep coming. Acne doesn’t stop when you hit your 20s. I’m 31 years old and I still get a few blemishes here and there. So, let’s talk about the causes of adult acne.
If you have probably noticed, adults get pimples once in a while. They might not have an all-out breakout, but they still end up with an embarrassing blemish or two. Actually, acne can affect you until the ripe old age of 50. Acne can run in your family (genetics), and this you have little control over, but there are other causes that you can control.
Think about what you eat every day. High fat and high sugar foods will make your skin breakout. This is one of the main causes of adult acne, as well as acne in teens. Think about this the next time you grab that greasy hamburger or jelly doughnut. Try vegetables, lean meats and plenty of water for a solid week. You’ll be amazed at how well your skin looks.
Your hairstyle and hygiene habits may be causing your acne breakout. if you wear your hair in your face, oils and hair treatments can lay on the skin and clog your pores. Hormone and Testosterone changes can cause acne breakouts as well.
Improper grooming is also one of the causes of adult acne. If you’re not keeping yourself clean and your face oil free, then you are increasing your chances for an acne breakout. You want to keep your face free of oil and dirt. Always use a good, gentle cleanser on your face in the morning and just before bedtime. Dryness and irritation from harsh soaps are also common causes of adult acne. if your skin is dry it can crack. Cracks in the skin make good hiding places for bacterial growth, so go with gentle cleansers.
