Lighting is the most important element of interior decoration. It is the instrument that generates different atmospheres to the room, from intimacy to enthusiasm. But to be sure the effect of the light is the one we are looking for, it is important that we know four types of illumination.
1. Ambient lighting or general lighting.
This is lighting for the entire room. It is recommended along with the use of intensity adjustments, to have more flexibility in creating effects for every occasion.
2. Local lights.
They assure the light flowing around the room in order to make comfortable activities such as reading, cooking, and shaving. The intensity of the light is local and it has to be correctly measured so it won’t trouble or exhaust the eyes.
3. Accent lights.
They are sources of light with ornamental purposes, usually placed to emboss an art object or a preferred corner.
4. Natural light.
This one we get for free though windows and doors. Depending on the period of the day, season or weather, this one can vary in intensity and color. Continue Reading »
If you plan to use your truck like a car, desiring quick, quiet acceleration and rarely ever haul a heavy load and don’t plan to it for a long time, you may want a gasoline engine. Gas engines run smoother, fuel is easier to find, and gas engines start easier in cold weather.
If you plan to use your truck for towing, value good fuel economy and plan to put plenty of miles on it, you may want a diesel. The price to buy a diesel truck is really high, although they can offer you a lot in return.
Below, you’ll find the leading vehicle manufacturers and what they offer you.

Most women have an assortment of dresses and gowns stashed somewhere in their closet, even if they do not wear them very often. Most save their wedding dress, though that may be preserved and out of the way. Others have dresses from events they have attended, and they may have been a bridesmaid a time or two for friends. Those that live solely in jeans and tee shirts still have a few in the back of the closet for things like funerals and job interviews because they know they are going to need them from time to time. No matter how often you wear these items, you need to know how to care for them so they are there when you need them again in the future.
Dresses and gowns can often go neglected because they’re not worn as often as other items in the closet. They often get pushed back and forgotten until they’re needed. This means that when someone pulls out a gown from the back of the closet, it has a distinct smell that tells you that it has, indeed, been hibernating inside of a small space with little to no ventilation (can you say “funky smell”). You may have to take your gowns or dresses out to be dry cleaned if this is the case. That smell will ruin your look for sure. If your closet is easily accessible and aired out often, you may not have this problem.
Next, never put your dresses away until they have been cleaned. Some need a special trip to the dry cleaner to be cleaned, and some people put this off until later. Though the dress may seem clean to the eye, there are still things that get into the fabric that will stain or cause odors that no dry cleaner will be able to remove if left dirty for a long period of time. Everyone sweats (or “glows”), and other oils from the body are released all the time. No matter how briefly you wore an item, it has bodily fluids on it that will ruin your dress or gown. Do not put something in the closet to clean later. Leave it out until you get it done, and then stash your dresses and gowns away in good shape. Continue Reading »
Garlic bread is now a beloved side in many American households. We serve it with spaghetti, lasagna, pot roast, with chili and as a nice ‘dipper’ for soups. So popular is this wonderful Italian staple, it’s now available in already prepared loaves in the bakery section, or even in pre-sliced boxed versions in the freezer aisle. Perhaps its popularity is due to increased awareness of the many health benefits of garlic, a heart healthy, blood pressure regulating, cholesterol reducing food, which also has natural antibiotic properties. Or perhaps it’s just so tasty.
Here, we’ve got five garlic bread recipes you can easily make at home: save some money and increase the nutritive value over the commercially prepared products, as well as enjoying more robust flavor. We’ll begin with the usual garlic bread recipe, enhanced with freshly prepared ingredients, with which most of us are familiar, then go on to some delightful variations you’ll surely want to try. Some of these variations are substantial enough to serve as a snack or light lunch.
1. Use a pastry brush to spread a thin coating of olive oil on both sides of a loaf of French bread, cut in half horizontally. Sprinkle evenly with minced garlic and broil, just until browned. Cut in slices and serve warm. Optionally, you can add some grated Cheddar, fresh shaved Parmesan or Asiago cheese for extra flavor before broiling. Continue Reading »
Have you graduated yet? I’m talking about high school, here. If not, what are your future plans? Have you picked out a few colleges to consider for further education? If you’re thinking that college just sounds like a load of bogus extra work and hassle, then you may want to rethink that. In this day and age college is practically a must. A four year BA or BS is just the beginning of it all. So many people recently are going back for their masters just to get that extra edge. Believe me; you need it to vie in this competitive world. The population says it all. We’ve got like 6 billion others to compete with. You may want to consider that before ruling out higher education. It all comes down to; why would anyone want to hire you? Now that I’ve slightly annoyed you, and captured your attention, we should talk college costs. These can get a little overwhelming, if you know what I mean.
Are your folks discussing your future? If so, I bet they brought up college costs. It’s inevitable. The price of tuition always comes up amongst parents. If they were smart and stayed ahead of the game, then they probably set up some kind of college fund for you. However, maybe they want you to grapple with college costs on your own. You know, kind of a growing-up experience. Either way you slice it, college costs can be rather stressful. I should know; I struggled with mine on my own. Fortunately, there are options out there. You have been training on a good exercise program regularly at your local gym for a couple of months now. At the beginning, you may have lost some weight, gain some muscle tone, strength and feeling wonderful after every exercise session, but you do not experience those wonderful moments anymore. Your results are now dismal at best or worse, you are not getting the results that you wanted anymore.
You stayed on a healthy diet, supplemented with vitamins and minerals, but somehow you always feel tired and exhausted nowadays. Your enthusiasm for your workout sessions seemed to have waned. You even feel irritable and all stressed up. What is happening?
You know something? If you find yourself dreading your exercise sessions or dragging yourself through the day, you may be pushing yourself too hard. This is how overtraining affects your exercise program. Training plateau is your body’s way of crying out for rest. It is time to now take a rest and recharge your body. When it comes to getting a good physical shape, most people expect too much too soon. They would usually push themselves too hard at the beginning in order to get faster results. But what happens then? They feel tired, exhausted, easily irritated and so become depressed and lose the desire and enthusiasm for the activities they used to enjoy. Isn’t that such a waste?
Overtraining happens when the physical stress of training is not balanced by adequate rest and nutrition to allow the body recuperate and repair itself. Overtraining is defined as “untreated overreaching that result in chronic decreases in performance and impaired ability to train” by the The Unites States Olympic Committee (USOC) and the American College of Sports Medicine. In medical terms, the overtraining syndrome is classified as a neuro-endocrine disorder where the normal fine balance in the interaction between nervous and hormonal systems is disturbed and the body is so tired that it now has a decreased ability to repair itself during rest.
